Company: Excel Services, electrical, mechanical and low voltage design-build contractor
Date: September 15th
Purpose: Fall Family Outing
Last Friday, we had the pleasure of welcoming Excel Services to the facility as they hosted their second annual Fall Family Outing. As a rapidly growing company dedicated to customer satisfaction, hosting events during normal business hours just isn’t a realistic option; therefore, Excel chose to invest in a Friday evening affair.
Instead of cutting into their employees’ family-time, Excel staff were encouraged to bring spouses and kids and make it a family activity. Extending invitations to family members naturally increases the cost of an event, but it also exponentially increases its long-term value. Not only do co-workers get a chance to strengthen relationships with one another, they get the very valuable opportunity to engage with the families of co-workers. After all, many of us are motivated most by those we leave at home when we come to work. It’s been shown that family-first companies retain a more loyal workforce and routinely outperform companies who demand excess sacrifice in the domestic domain.
According to Brian Waltrip, owner and founder of Excel Services, “The event was fantastic. I say even better than last year. Everyone seemed to agree. Your group did a wonderful job and made it a great experience! Thank you so much.”
We look forward to hosting Excel Services next year for their 3rd annual family outing!
